The 1950s and 1960s were a time of great modification in the United States of America. Some people were trying to crack on to traditional values while others wanted dramatic changes. Jacqueline Lee Bouvier was born on July 28, 1929, in Southampton, New York. Her father, John, was a wealthy stockbroker on Wall lane whose family had come from France in the early 1800s. Her mother, Janet, had ancestors from Ireland and England. Jackie had many advantages and opportunities in life. She took absolute ballet lessons in the old Metropolitan Opera House.
