Cesare Lombroso (1835-1909) is often referred to as the substructure farther of positivist criminology. Lombroso often used the phrase scuola positiva which sum positive school in Latin and was used to describe the school of theory and the range that Lombroso conducted. Lombrosos interest in criminology arose from anthropological types, which ranged from genius to insane.
