The second thing that struck me as profound is that many of the survivors lost their faith in divinity and swore they would never return to practicing Judaism, did so, in higher numbers that I had anticipated. The faith that these brave men and women showed the fact the many hang up their faith in God, to survive and came rather quickly as life returned to normal. Being a part of the tabernacle community was a large part of the healing. Many faltering in to life, pushing ahead, trying to rebuild life with come on anyone but members of their congregation. It was also interesting to hear all the personal accounts in more detail of rescue and life reform after the war, the beginning of the healing.
