In the movie Men of Honor, Cuba Gooding, Jr. plays the role of Carl Brashear, an African-American sailor in the U.S. dark blue. Carl dropped by of give instruction after ordinal grade to help his father work in the bailiwick so they could keep their farm. When he got older he get together the Navy merely quickly found that it was non what he had thought it would be. He had dreamed of becoming a U.S. Navy Master Diver, but the Navy decided he was dismission to be a cook instead.
One day Carl and the former(a) cooks were up on the deck watching as the clean-living sailors were getting to swim. He decided that he had had enough and plunge into the water. The fastest white swimmer tried to catch Carl and chafe him go back to the boat but Carl made him control like he wasnt even moving. He was wherefore moved from cook to rescue diver but quiet down had to bunk with the cooks. He later went on to attend plunge school. Despite the drill instructor trying to force him out and the head of the diving school telling the instructor not to let him pass, Carl graduated at the top of his class.
He past went on to help the U.S. recover a hydrogen break down that had to be dropped in the ocean before the bomber crashed.
