In the 19th century, there was a tragical blast that killed nearly 500 women. This elicit occurred because of the overleap of fire exits and locked doors in the companys facility. The fire could have in truth well been prevented, but in results of the tragedy, the nation became a conk out place. Not only did the nation become awargon of the lack of fire precautions, they also became aware of the poor atmosphere these employees were confront with. Because of this huge tragedy, people were prompted to new building, fire, and safety codes throughout the unite States.
The Triangle Shirtwaist Company was a garment sweatshop that was possess by two Russians named Max Blanck and Isaac Harris. This company was one of the largest blouse making factories in New York City in the 19th century. Harris and Blanck favored to hire Jewish and Italian women who work for less pay, and are less susceptible to labor organization. These women worked very long hours, and didnt receive much pay. In 1911, a fire skint out on the top floors of the Asch Building in lower berth Manhattan. Many consider this fire one of the worst industrial disasters in US history.
